Merchant Marine Circulars No. 254, 255 y 256

Please find attached copy of Merchant Marine Circulars No. 254, No. 255 & No. 256, recently issued by Panama Maritime Authority (PMA) covering various aspects of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006

On MMC No. 254, PMA informs about the content of the Declaration of Maritime Labour Compliance – Part I, which states the list of matters subject to survey and the national requirements incorporating the provisions established on the MLC 2006. This Declaration is provisional; however, it is important as its content is the base to write the Declaration of Maritime Labour Complance – Part II which shall indicate the measures adopted to ensure the permanent compliance with national requirements, as well as measures proposed to guarantee the continuous improvement.

On MMC No. 255, PMA provides the list of authorized Classification Societies and Recognized Organizations that are authorized by the Administration to issue the Maritime Labour Certificate, the Declaration of Maritime Labour Compliance Part II and the Document of Compliance with the MCL 2006.

On MMC No. 256, PMA informs about the format created to issue the Document of Compliance with the MCL 2006 in order to have an uniform process in this regards.
