Merchant Marine Circular No. 258
Please find attached copy of Merchant
Marine Circular No. 258 recently issued by Panama Maritime Authority (PMA)
informing that service providers for examination, testing, repair and overhaul
of lifeboats, launching appliances and on-load release gear for Panamanian
flagged vessel must be authorized by Administration. The list of current
authorized service providers is stated at point 3) of this Circular; however,
the Administration will inform periodically new service providers once they are
authorized.
The Administration will accept in a case by case basis the service providers approved by manufacturers to carrying out the examination, operational testing, repair and overhaul of lifeboats, launching appliances and on-load release gear in accordance with SOLAS III/2, as well as service providers approved by IACS and by other Administrations.
